Proverbs 10:3

The Lord will not allow the soul of the righteous to famish, but He casts away the desires of the wicked.

I was reading my bible in the bus while on my way to office yesterday and this proverb was so strong in my heart. What does it mean?? Famished? Hungry? Physically? Not exactly..

If it is physical hunger, the verse would not have said the soul of the righteous and then saying that the Lord will cast away the desires.. All these speak of our spiritual food and health. Praise Jesus! He is our Righteousness that we became righteous in Him. So to speak, He will not allow any of us to suffer any spiritual hunger, for His Word is food to our spirit, soul and mind. The desires are within our heart and how can we possibly chew physically on the desires?

Simply to put, as the desires are within our hearts and minds, the Lord will also cast away the desires of the wicked that comes into our minds. When our eyes are upon Jesus, our Righteousness, all desires of the wicked will be casted away. I remember when my pastor was talking about "looking at Jesus", he mentioned that each time we look to Him, our hearts will settle down with ease, knowing that He has settled all problems. Problems are considered also as the desires of the wicked coz they drain our lives away.

Many times, I've been drained off with problems and after reading this verse, I started to perk up coz He'll cast away all desires of the wicked and He'll never let my spiritual health to become ground zero. With all these, life came back and my heart will filled with hope again - like in Romans 5:5 - ... and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Cool!! Holy Spirit is given unto us and the Holy Spirit is living within us. With the Holy Spirit living within us, He casts out (or rather drives out) the desires of the wicked!! ** visualising the Holy Spirit chasing the wicked desires out **

Thank you Lord Jesus!! I love you!
